Abstract:Objective To explore the feasibility of magnetic hydrogel based on magnetic anchor technique for endoscopic submucosal
dissection of gastric. Methods Using 4 fresh isolated pig stomachs as models, sodium alginate ferric oxide solution and calcium
agent were injected under the hypothesized lesion mucosa. After gelation, the external anchor magnet was placed, the magnet
hydrogel was attracted by the anchor magnet, and the lesion mucosa was lifted to assist the endoscopic submucosal lesion removal.
Results Endoscopic submucosal dissection was successfully performed in 4 isolated pig stomachs. Sodium alginate ferric oxide
solution was injected smoothly and gelation reaction occurred rapidly after meeting with calcium agent. Under the magnetic
attraction of the anchor magnet, the diseased mucosa was sucked up and pulled, and the mucosal dissection surface was fully exposed
and maintained a certain tension, which greatly improved the operation experience of the operator and facilitated the endoscopic
submucosal dissection. Conclusion Submucosal injection of magnetic hydrogel is feasible in endoscopic gastric mucosal dissection.
