Abstract:Objective To design a monitoring system that can measure electrocardiogram (ECG) signals and display them on
cell phone with android system in real time, which provide an experimental case for “Microcontroller Principles and Interface
Technology” course and to promote the level of experimental teaching and teaching quality. Methods Using fully integrated ECG
signal conditioning module, the ECG signal was extracted, amplified, filtered and driven from the right leg to the main control module
of a microcontroller. The ECG signal was converted into a digital signal by using the ADC, timer and full-duplex asynchronous serial
communication functions of the microcontroller, and then transmitted to the Android program through the CH340 USB to serial
module for real-time display of the signal. Results The system could monitor ECG signals and displayed ECG and heart rate in real
time via cell phone with good display effect and 99.89% accuracy of test analysis. At the same time, the experimental teaching of the
project could be designed with three levels of content and tasks: basic, advanced and extended to meet the needs of different learning
abilities. Conclusion This experimental case realized the monitoring of ECG signal and can display ECG and heart rate in real time
by cell phone, which meets the measurement accuracy of the application. At the same time, applying this program to the teaching of
“Microcontroller Principle and Interface Technology” course has good promotion value.
