Abstract:Objective A large amount of heat would be absorbed in the process of liquid oxygen being transformed into gaseous
oxygen by vaporizer. In order to avoid the adverse effect of the vaporizer surface icing on the vaporization rate of liquid oxygen, a
spray deicing device was developed. Methods Flexible, Light and Durable PPR pipes were used as the main materials, with spray
heads (top, middle, lower) and switches which can adjust the angle flexibly. The design was combined with the distribution of ice on
the surface of carburetor and the demand of deicing. An intelligent special spray device for carburetor was produced. Results The
working pressure of the middle spray head was 3~4 kg, which can adjust the water output and the way of water outlet according to
the demand. Using the spray device of the liquid oxygen carburetor saved manpower and time, and the artificial deicing time was
about 30 min in summer. In winter, the ambient temperature was low, so it took about 2 h to completely remove the ice manually.
Conclusion The spray device is simple to install, flexible to use, solid and durable in material, can remove frost in time, avoid
surface icing, cause unnecessary load of vaporizer, make liquid oxygen vaporize fully, and provide better guarantee for normal use of
hospital medical oxygen.
