Abstract:Objective To estimate and analyze the radiation levels of the surrounding environment during operation of the HM-10HC
cyclotron and the additional effective doses per year of the staff to ensure the safety of the equipment environment and the radiation
of the staff. Methods The Radiation monitoring instrument was used carried out using radiation monitoring instruments for the
operation of the HM-10HC cyclotron and the distribution points during the preparation process of 18F-FDG, and the radiation levels
in the surrounding environment of the cyclotron accelerator were analyzed from monitoring data and the effective annual dose was
estimated for the staff. Results When the cyclotron runs to produce 18F-, the radiation dose rate in the area around the room was
slightly higher than the environmental background level, and the additional photo exposure dose each staff operating the cyclotron
was less than 0.004 mSv. Radiation dose around the hot chamber were slightly higher then environmental background by the
18F-FDG synthesizing and the operators would be exposed to a small amount of radiation irradiation. The additional annual average
doses in personnel was approximately 0.028 mSv. Conclusion The environment radiation has little influence and conforms to the
corresponding environmental management requirements while running the HM-10HC cyclotron. The additional annual average doses
in personnel is lower than the annual limited values of occupational staff.
