Abstract:Objective To detect and evaluate the vital signs of survivors in search and rescue operation after earthquakes, landslides
and other disasters, a new method of penetrating monitoring on human vital signs via dual-frequency bioradar was proposed.
Methods A new dual-frequency IR-UWB bioradar, which combined the advantages of penetrability and sensitivity with two
antennas in different center frequencies, could detect the same target simultaneously. The dual channel cross-correlation data fusion
and adaptive spectral line enhancement algorithms were used to improve the signal-to-noise ratio of detected vital signals and extract
the respiratory signal of human target. Moreover, the moving target indicator and high-order cumulative enhancement technology
were used to extract the weak human heartbeat signal. Results The results of simulated ruins scene experiments showed that the
time-domain waveform and frequency spectrum of respiration and heartbeat signals of the target could be accurately detected, and
the penetrating monitoring of bioradar was realized. Conclusion This paper provided a new type of bioradar penetrating monitoring
technology, which can provide more detailed and reliable physiological information for rescuers to formulate scientific rescue plans,
thereby saving the lives of survivors to the greatest extent.
