Abstract:Objective To explore the influence of outpatient appointment registration system in improving the efficiency of outpatient
service. Methods Five hundred patients registered in our hospital from February to October 2016 were selected randomly, and were
divided into appointment registration group and outpatient queuing registration group according to the registration methods, and all
the patients were investigated by questionnaire. The ways of appointment, age distribution, appointment classification were analyzed
in the appointment group, to evaluate the application of appointment registration system. The waiting time, smooth degree of
treatment and patients’ satisfaction were contrasted and analyzed. Results Among 500 cases of patients, 214 cases were registered,
and the rate was significant lower than that of traditional queuing registration (P<0.05).The number of patients less than or equal
to 45 years, high school and above the proportion in the appointment registration group were significantly higher than those in the
outpatient queue up group (P<0.05). Waiting time was (14.25±4.29) min in the appointment registration group, significantly shorter
than that of (29.56±9.30) min in the outpatient registration group (P<0.05). The success rate and satisfaction degree of patients were
94.39% and 96.73% in the registration group, significantly higher than those of 85.66% and 91.26% in the outpatient registration
group (P<0.05). Conclusion Outpatient appointment time attendance system can shorten waiting time of patients, and improve
efficiency and service satisfaction.
