Abstract
Objective To study the application of SNC Patient and 3DVH software in the dose verification of IMRT plans for breast
and cervix cancer. Methods Eleven cases of breast cancer and seven cases of cervical cancer patients were selected. IMRT plans for
these patients were designed by Pinnacle Treatment Planning System. The ArcCHECK phantom was chosen to verify the dose of
these cases. The differences between the TPS calculated dose and measured reconstructed dose were compared by the SNC Patient
and 3DVH software for every patient. Difference indicators include γ passing rate (3%/3 mm, TH=10%), target dose parameters
D98%, D2%, Dmean and organ-at-risk dose parameters Dmean, etc. Results The minimum value of SNCγ passing rate for each patient
was 97.4, and all of them were greater than the γ passing rate of 3DVH. The γ passing rates of each patient for the target area
was greater than 90%, only the D98% difference value of the PCTV for cervix cancer patients’ was statistically significant, and
the maximum difference value was less than 3%. Thirdly, the γ passing rates of each organ at risk were greater than 90%. Only the
difference values for V20 of the ipsilateral lung, the Dmean of the contralateral lung and heart, the V50 of the rectum and bladder dose
parameters were statistically significant, and the maximum dose difference was less than 10%. Conclusion With the help of SNC
Patient software, the difference of the phantom dose distribution can be preliminaries analyzed between the TPS calculation and
measurement. More specific information about the target and OAR can be provided by the 3DVH software, which was helpful for the
safe implementation of the patient’s treatment plan.
