Objective To reduce the failure rate of monitors and improve patients’ satisfaction with nurses. Methods Based on the concept of preventive maintenance and department training, a set of standardized operating procedures, which were used in the management of hospital monitors, were developed in this stu dy. Results After a year of practice, it was found that the standardized operation procedure could significantly reduce the failure frequency of the monitor, reduce the average time of failure maintenance, and improve patient satisfaction and nurses’ confidence. Conclusion The standardized procedure can be used in the management of hospital monitor.
