Abstract
Objective To measure the oxygen consumption of operating ventilator so as to accurately
grasp the actual oxygen consumption of oxygen in different oxygen concentration. Methods The realtime
oxygen consumption value of the breathing machine was measured under the inhaled oxygen
concentration values of 21%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90% and 100% by using the method
of joining-up pipe stringing gas mass flow meter in operation of the air inlet tube on ventilator oxygen.
Results The oxygen consumption of the Elisse 250 emergency transport ventilator was significantly less
than LTV 1000 transport ventilator under the condition of oxygen concentration 30%~60%. Especially
when the oxygen concentration was 21%, the oxygen consumption was 0, which indicated Elisee 250
emergency transport ventilator was preferred in transshipment in saving oxygen. Conclusion The oxygen
consumption measurements of transport ventilator at different oxygen concentration can help medical
personnel to have a correct understanding in the transport of patients with ventilator oxygen consumption.
The performance testing and quality control of the transport ventilator is crucial for ensuring the safety
of patients when transport of critically ill patients. Therefore, it is very necessary to perform accurate
measurement and evaluation of the operation of ventilation to ensure the safety of the patients.
