Reliability Analysis of Medical Equipment Based on Failure Data Set

Abstract:Objective To propose a reliability analysis method for medical equipment based on medical equipment fault data set,
which provides a reference for preventive maintenance strategy research of medical equipment. Methods The failure data of
ventilator, anesthesia machine, gastrointestinal endoscope, and hemodialysis machine in tertiary hospitals in East China from 2017
to 2020 were collected as the experimental set. The failure data of medical equipment in Wenzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese
Medicine and Wenzhou Central Hospital in the same period were collected as the test set. Based on the collected equipment failure
data set, the Logistic distribution function was established and calculated, and analyzed from the aspects of medical equipment failure
density, reliability, failure rate, and mean time to first failure (MFTF). Results The failure frequency of medical equipment in the
experimental set tends to normal distribution with heavy-tailed and high peak. The goodness of fit values of Logistic distribution
functions of the four fault experimental sets were 0.91, 0.85, 0.87 and 0.89 respectively, and the corresponding P values were 0.87,
0.54, 0.61 and 0.72 respectively. We accepted the null hypothesis that the fault set conforms to the Logistic distribution. The P values
of Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) test of four kinds of fault test sets were 0.35, 0.25, 0.11 and 0.42 respectively. The experimental set
and test set obeyed the uniform distribution. The MFTF values of the four devices were 1233.8, 1733.8, 779.2 and 1003.6 days
respectively. Conclusion The established Logistic distribution function can effectively reflect the equipment fault distribution, and
timely adjust the preventive maintenance strategy of hospital medical equipment according to the reliability calculation results. It is
worthy of further study and popularization.
