Abstract:Objective To discusses the effect of time maximum intensity projeetion (TimeMIP) technology on the image quality of bipedal
vascular image in CTA of lower limbs. Methods A total of 50 patients with suspected double lower extremity vascular disease were
selected. After routine CTA scanning of the lower extremities, a low-dose scan of 160 mm width axial position of the subject’s foot region
was performed with a delay of 10 s. The images of the foot area scanned by CTA of the double lower extremities were group A, timelapse
scanned images processed by TimeMIP were group B. The CT value of dorsum and toe arteries were measured respectively, and
signal to noise ratio (SNR) and effective radiation dose were calculated. The images were postprocessed and subjective scores were given
on a 4-point scale. Results Patients in both groups successfully completed the examination. The dorsum and toe arteries were measured.
The CT values were (150.44±8.67) and (137.20±10.67) HU in the experimental group, and (123.36±8.61) and (123.32±10.97) HU
in the control group, which were statistically significant (P<0.05). The SNR of dorsum and toe arteries were 9.11±0.96 and 9.38±1.22
in the experimental group and 8.11±0.93 and 8.35±1.83 in the control group, which showed no statistically significant
difference (P>0.05). After MIP and VR processing, the subjective scores of the two groups were (3.23±0.18) scores in the experimental
group and (2.11±0.20) scores in the control group, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant by Mann-Whitney U test
(P<0.05). Conclusion TimeMIP technology can effectively improve the image quality of CTA foot artery vessels in both lower limbs.
