Abstract:Objective To explore the radiation dose the public received while the mobile bedside Xray
machine is working. Methods Firstly, the radiation dose of hospital’s centralized ward was detected.
Based on the detected radiation dose rate, a mathematical model was built to transform it to the annual
effective dose according to the clinical regularities. Then radiation protection assessment was made by
comparing it with the radiation safety limit specified by the state. Results The annual radiation dose
public received was far below than that of annual effective dose limit specified by the state when bedside
Xray
machine was working, which met the national safety standards. Conclusion Though the public
radiation dose of bedside Xray
machine is within the safety range, it is still necessary to implement
protective measures in pediatric intensive care unit, neonatology department and patients’ family
members who stay beside patient.
