Abstract:Objective To measure the radiation level of SPECT/CT (Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography/Computed Tomography) workplaces in the Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College so as to investigate the radiation protection conditions of the corresponding workplace. Methods The Radiation Alert Inspector was used to detect the Gamma-Ray radiation dose rate and surface contamination. Results This testings showed that both the Gamma-Ray radiation dose rate and surface contamination in the activity room were obviously higher than their background. The maximum rate of injection room desk surface was up to 2.72 μSv/h; the super-purgative working table surface was 2.52 μSv/h; the registration desk surface was 2.21 μSv/h; and the value around the waste barrel was 2.13 μSv/h. The surface contamination in the SPECT/CT workplace did not exceed the national standard, but the surface contamination and the Gamma-Ray radiation dose rate in the activity room were far beyond those of its background. Conclusion The radiation protection level in the SPECT/CT workplaces in the hospital was qualified according to the national standards. And the focus of radiation protection should be given to the workplace of the activity room.
