Abstract:Objective To improve the success rate of the plate marking of automatic inoculation, the height error caused by the
movement of the mechanical structure and the pipette tip (TIP) itself is eliminated. Methods A detection system of inoculation TIP
height based on machine vision was designed, including a hardware system of light source and software system of image recognition.
The system sent the detected height error data to the lower computer, and assisted the lower computer to fine-tune the mechanical
height. Results By the experiment of plate streaking with 1042 samples, the result showed that the vision system can effectively
improve the success rate of plate streaking of inoculation instrument, and had strong stability. After practical application and testing,
the effectiveness of the vision system can meet the practical application requirement of the instrument. It can remove the precision
error from mechanical movement and assist the slave computer to accurately control the TIP streaking height. The precision of height
detection can reach to 0.06 mm. Conclusion Through the analysis of the structure of inoculation instrument, this paper designs a
method of vision measurement to remove the influence from the error of inoculation TIP, which ensures the reliability and fluency
of mechanical movement, and provides the reference for the decisions of departments such as the automatic instrument design for
medical equipment.
