Abstract:Objective According to the requirements of standardized management of medical consumables under the new situation,
this paper discusses the application of McKinsey 7S model in standardized management of medical consumables in hospitals, and
provides a basis for improving the management efficiency of medical consumables. Methods By combining the McKinsey 7S model
with the actual situation, the original medical consumables management process was optimized, and the standardized management
effect of medical consumables was evaluated by comparing the management situation of medical consumables items and distribution
efficiency before and after the implementation of the McKinsey 7S model. Results Since 2017, 1021 medical consumables suppliers
had established a knowledge map with our hospital. The signing rate of “Honest Agreement on Medical Consumables Suppliers” has
reached 100%, and the qualification has reached 100%. The types of medical consumables and monthly storage capacity of hospital
medical consumables were significantly reduced (P<0.05), and the average delivery time of consumables was significantly reduced
(P<0.05). The application response time, order delivery time and order delivery time of medical consumables were significantly
reduced, and the distribution efficiency of consumables was significantly improved (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of
McKinsey 7S model has accelerated the process of standardized management of medical consumables in our hospital to some extent,
and accelerated the establishment of systematization, normalization, process, standardization, formalization and other processes in
consumables procurement process, which has certain research and promotion value.
