Abstract:Objective To improve the acceptance efficiency of medical consumables and promote the fine management of medical
consumables through the application of Lean Six Sigma. Methods Taking high-value and high-risk orthopedic products as an
example, by collecting the acceptance status data, acceptance time and one-time pass rate of such products, combined with Six Sigma
five-step management, including definition, measurement, analysis, improvement and control (DMAIC), various factors affecting
the acceptance process were collected and analyzed, and the improvement was implemented. The improvement effect was evaluated
according to the quantitative standards before and after the improvement. Results Through the implementation of the improvement
scheme, the acceptance time was shortened from 58 minutes of P75 (75% or more) to 20 minutes, and the one-time pass rate was
increased from 80% to 98%. Conclusion Using management tools to analyze and improve each link of acceptance, reduce the error
rate in the process and improve the efficiency is of great significance to the fine management of consumables.
