Research and Practice of Radiation Protection Management in Large Comprehensive Hospital

Abstract:Objective This study introduced the experience of radiation protection management in large comprehensive hospital
in order to provide ideas and references for the radiation protection management in medical institutions. Methods According to
the contents and difficulties of radiation protection management in general hospitals, establishing and improving the organization
structure and the management system, strengthening occupational health management of radiation workers and enhancing
the dynamic management of equipments and motor rooms were presented to standardize and promote the radiation protection
management in this hospital. Results By establishing the above radiation protection management mode, the hospital completed all
administrative permits on time, and there was not one radiation safety accident. The Plan-Do-Check-Action (PDCA) management
mode effectively reduced the number of medical staff who reached the critical investigation level in radiation diagnosis, nuclear
medicine and interventional radiology (P<0.05). Conclusion The wide application of radiation diagnosis and treatment in the
medical field propose a higher request for the radiation safety. Improving the ability of radiation protection management is an
important prerequisite to ensure the safety of radiation diagnosis and treatment.
