Abstract:Objective To evaluate the impact of ADMIRE (Advanced Modelled Iterative Reconstruction) on
coronary artery stent visualization by using third generation dual-source CT. Methods 21 patients (33 stents
totally) who underwent Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography (CCTA) on a third generation dual
source CT scanner were included in the study. CCTA datasets were reconstructed by using different levels of
ADMIRE (1~5). Double-blinded and independent qualitative evaluation of image quality was performed by
two readers using a five-point scale (5 as the best). Quantitative assessment including stent diameter, luminal
attenuation difference, image noise, Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) and Contrast-to-Noise Ratio (CNR) were
also performed, and analysis of the differences between the groups was made. Results The inter-observer
agreement for the subjective image quality scores was substantial (Kappa=0.836). The image quality of
ADMIRE 4 and ADMIRE 5 Group were the highest. a. The difference between stent diameter and luminal
attenuation were not statistically significant between five groups (P>0.05); b. The noise of ADMIRE 1 was the
highest (28.18±14.253), ADMIRE 5 was the lowest (12.82±5.282); The CNR and SNR of ADMIRE 1 were
the lowest (27.02±32.383, 30.20±39.174), ADMIRE 5 were the highest (69.05±51.748, 75.96±52.636); c.
The difference of noise between ADMIRE 5 and ADMIRE 4 was not statistically significant (P>0.05), there
was statistically significant difference with the other three groups (P<0.05), the difference of CNR and SNR
between ADMIRE 1~4 were not statistically significant (P>0.05), there was statistically significant difference
with ADMIRE 5. Conclusion ADMIRE can be used to improve the image quality of stents in CCTA, a higher
iterative strength level of ADMIRE should be preferred.
