Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical value of 3.0 T magnetic resonance 3D-T1-sampling perfection with application
optimized contrasts using different fip angle evolution (3D-T1-SPACE) enhanced sequence in the evaluation of involved vessels in
patients with middle cerebral artery (MCA) atherosclerosis. Methods The clinical and imaging data of 46 patients with unilateral
MCA atherosclerotic stenosis were analyzed to explore the consistency of 3D-T1-SPACE enhancement, three dimensional time of
flight magnetic resonance angiography (3D-TOF-MRA) and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in measuring lumen
stenosis rate and lesion length. Results Compared with DSA, the consistency of 3D-T1-SPACE enhancement was better than
that of 3D-TOF-MRA (ICC=0.91, 0.80) in the evaluation of lumen stenosis, but both of them were higher than DSA in measuring
lesion length (P<0.001). When DSA and 3D-TOF-MRA showed that the lumen was slightly depressed and suspected to be narrow,
3D-T1-SPACE enhanced sequence could effectively detect small plaques on the wall of the vessel. Conclusion 3D-T1-SPACE
enhancement sequence can effectively evaluate the rate of atherosclerotic stenosis, lesion length and plaque feature of middle cerebral
artery, and can be used as a routine non-invasive diagnosis and follow-up evaluation of patients with MCA atherosclerosis.
