Abstract:Objective To study the feasibility of C-arm X-ray (CX) kV image in prostate cancer radiotherapy plan design based on MR
image for identification of implanted gold fiducial marker (GFM). Methods A total of 32 patients with prostate cancer who met the
inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected. First, CX image and MR-digitally reconstructured radiograph (MR-DRR) with GFM
in anterior-posterior direction were acquired. The center of GFM on two images was matched. Displacement in superior-inferior and
left-right direction and two-dimension space was calculated. Auxiliary identification for GFM on MR-DRR with CX was performed.
Then CT-digitally reconstructured radiograph (CT-DRR) with GFM in anterior-posterior direction was acquired and auxiliary
identification for GFM on MR-DRR was performed. Difference in all directions between two auxiliary identification methods was
statistically analyzed. Results Average value of displacement in superior-inferior and left-right direction and two-dimension space
was (0.91±0.85), (0.83±0.71) and (1.54±1.41) mm, respectively in CX-assisted identification, and (0.69±0.55), (0.53±0.46) and
(1.14±0.73) mm in CT-assisted identification. There was significant difference between two identification methods in all directions
(P<0.05). Conclusion Compared with CT, the accuracy of CX-assisted identification method is acceptable and has certain clinical
application value.
