Abstract:Objective To improve COVID-19 prevention and control efficiency in medical institute, reduce cross infection among
patients, and reduce the cost of prevention and control of outbreaks in hospitals. Methods Taking Jiangsu Provincial Hospital as
an example, the intelligent transformation of the existing outpatient access was carried out, including face recognition and Internet
technology, automatic temperature measurement, identity verification and health code verification. Results Statistical methods were
used to analyze the number of the management personnel before and after the online operation and the number of the interceptors of
the gate. The difference was statistically significant (t=3.896, P=0.01). After the intelligent gate was put into operation, the number
of outpatient management personnel was significantly reduced, as well as the cost of prevention and control. The ratio of the number
of patients and interceptors of the gate after the online operation showed a downward trend (F=10.552, P=0.01), and the interception
effect was significant. Conclusion The implementation of outpatient intelligent gate access management effectively improves the
level of hospital epidemic prevention and control. The hospital has changed from “extensive management” to “refined management”,
which not only reduces the manual prevention and control pressure of the staff at the outpatient entrance and exit, but also
automatically traces the relevant information through the patient’s identity information and face biometrics. This further improves
the hospital epidemic prevention and control effect. The use of information technology not only reduces the labor cost, improves the
prevention and control effect, but also facilitates the outpatient access and improves experience.
