Abstract:Objective To evaluate the value of non-contrast enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (NCE-MRA) in the diagnosis
and endovascular interventional guidance of iliac vein compression syndrome (IVCS). Methods A total of 38 patients with lower
limb venous diseases examined by NCE-MRA, including relaxation-enhanced MR angiography without contrast and cardiogram
(REACT), balance turbo field echo magnetic resonance venogram (B-TFE MRV) and time of flight magnetic resonance venogram
(TOF-MRV) and DSA with the same number and location of iliac vein compression were included. The correlation of stenosis rate
was analyzed. Results The stenosis rates of REACT, B-TFE MRV and TOF-MRV had no significant difference compared with DSA,
respectively (t=-0.421, 1.365, -0.941, P>0.05), but the stenosis rates of REACT had the least difference compared with DSA
(Cohen’s d=0.060). The comparison of the stenosis rate between either two of REACT, B-TFE MRV and TOF-MRV showed that
the stenosis rate of REACT compared with B-TFE MRV, TOF-MRV had no obvious difference (t=-1.375, 0.284, P>0.05). However,
compared with TOF-MRV, the stenosis rate of REACT was smaller (Cohen’s d=0.040), and the stenosis rates of B-TFE MRV was
larger (t=2.211, P=0.032). Conclusion NCE-MRA can improve the diagnostic rate of IVCS, which can further guide the intraventral
treatment of iliac vein.
