Abstract:Accurate planning target vlume (PTV) is the key to precise radiotherapy. In radiotherapy for breast cancer, positioning
errors and breathing movement are the main factors for constructing PTV, which cause target location shift and bring trouble to the
determination of PTV. This paper reviewed the function of PTV, the composition of the expanded boundary, various measurement
methods of boundary displacement, the shortcomings of measurement and the factors affecting the displacement errors, and
summarized measured data to provide reference for the PTV construction of precision radiotherapy. Through the study on setup
errors and breathing movement, it can avoid missing target volume and radiation overdose of normal structure, which is of great
significance for precise radiotherapy after breast cancer operation.
