Abstract:Objective To improve the sterilization efficiency of medical protective masks, the effect of electron beam irradiation
sterilization on the filtration efficiency of medical protective masks was studied. Methods According to GB 19083-2010 technical
requirements for medical protective masks, testing filtration efficiency of the samples produced by ten enterprises (A~J) and
sterilized by different doses (3 kGy, 4 kGy, 5 kGy, unpasteurized) of electron beam irradiation with TSI 8130 automated filter
tester. Results The filtration efficiency of the samples was unqualified, and the electron beam irradiation sterilization with the dose of
3 kGy, 4 kGy and 5 kGy was not suitable for the medical protective mask. Conclusion It is not feasible to carry out rapid sterilization
of medical protective masks by electron beam irradiation.
