Abstract:Objective To investigate and analysis the accuracy and feasibility of using double shell positioning system (DSPS) to fix
patients with head tumors during radiotherapy and using the optical surface imaging system of Catalyst HD to guide radiotherapy
positioning. Methods A retrospective analysis of 60 cases of head tumor radiotherapy in our hospital from February to October 2020
were adopted. DSPS was used for fixation. According to the clinical practice experience of our center, the radiotherapy positioning
and position monitoring during treatment were guided by Catalyst HD. The registration error of the cone beam CT (CBCT) collected
at intervals during treatment was used as a reference to evaluate the feasibility of the center positioning method. Results The six
dimensional errors of the CBCT and Catalyst HD calibration methods were weakly correlated, and the differences were statistically
significant except for the z and Rtn directions (P<0.001). Between CBCT and non-CBCT guided Catalyst HD positioning error data,
only the Rtn direction difference was statistically significant (P<0.001). Conclusion Compared with the traditional CBCT alignment
method, Catalyst HD guided positioning has higher accuracy and better consistency. It can be used in treatments of non-CBCT
alignment during the treatment cycle, which can effectively ensure the positioning accuracy and thus the treatment effect.
