Abstract:Objective To improve the safety of medical compressed air system, at the same time reduce the ventilator and other
medical equipment failure rate. Methods Through the detection of compressed air quality and the reference of domestic and foreign
standards and standard requirements. combined with the theoretical knowledge of medical compressed air system, the problems were
analyzed and practiced. Results In the medical compressed air system, the oil injected screw compressor was replaced by the oilfree
scroll compressor, and the refrigerated dryer which was not strong enough to deal with the moisture in the compressed air was
replaced by the adsorption dryer. The oil content and water content of medical compressed air were increased from level 3 and level 5
to level 1 and level 3 respectively, and the failure rate of ventilator decreased from 14 times (31.1%) in 2016 to 1 time (1.6%) in 2019.
Conclusion By upgrading the compressors and dryers in the medical compressed air system, the safety of the medical compressed
air system can be effectively improved. and the failure rate of ventilator and other medical equipment can be greatly reduced. So as to
meet the demand of medical gas in clinical departments.
