Abstract:Objective To provide reference for practical research, discipline construction and education in the field of clinical engineering by focus on the research hotspots, current situation and trends in China. Methods Bibliometric and visual analysis of
18,906 related literatures based on CNKI database retrieval were conducted by using CiteSpace software. Results The amount of research literature in the field of clinical engineering in China was growing continuously, and the main topics from 2000 to 2006
were “departments”, “large-scale equipment” and “engineering technicians”|from 2006 to 2012, the hot topics were “measurement and quality control management”, “preventive maintenance” and “archives management”|the research topics from 2012 to 2018
were focused on “adverse events”, “information management”, “delicacy management” and “full life cycle”, etc. Conclusion The core journals in the field of clinical engineering in China have been formed and relatively fixed, and there are few inter-institutional
cooperative researches. The maintenance, risk management, informatization and discipline construction of medical equipment are the consistent research themes. The research has gradually turned to the management of all stages of the life cycle of medical equipment, with risk management as the focus and informatization management as the trend.
