Abstract:Objective To analyze the characteristics and differences of future equipment purchase configuration plans of medical institutions at all levels in Liaoning province, and to provide scientific basis for domestic medical device companies to carry
out market planning and precise delivery. Methods Public medical institutions at all levels in the nine demonstration zones/counties of Liaoning province were investigated. Investigators conducted qualitative interviews and questionnaires with the directors/
departments chiefs in charge of medical equipment in medical institutions, and collected the types, quantities, brands, funding sources of the equipment planned to be configured in the next three years. Results A total of 143 valid questionnaires were collected (the response rate was 86.1%), of which 91 medical institutions (63.6%) had equipment configuration plans. The total demand for various types of equipment was 538 sets, including 212 sets of domestic equipment (39.4%). The number of medical institutions that require medical imaging equipment was 75 (82.4%), the number of planned purchases was 127 sets, and the demand number of domestic brands was 52 sets, which were the first of all types of equipment, followed by inspection and diagnostic equipment. For ultrasound, biochemical analyzers, blood analyzers, electrocardiographs and CT machines with high total demand, domestic brands also account for a high proportion, accounting for 46%-71%. The proportion of total domestic equipment allocation plans in tertiary and secondary medical institutions was significantly higher than that of community health service centers and township hospitals. There were some differences in the localization needs of various types of equipment in different levels of medical institutions. Medical imaging equipment and endoscopes were mainly used in secondary medical institutions, inspection and diagnostic equipment, first aid / ICU equipment and rehabilitation equipment in primary medical institutions, and tertiary medical institutions were mainly based on diagnostic and surgical equipment. Conclusion Domestic medical equipment production and operation enterprises should carry out precise investment according to the characteristics of above market demand.
