Abstract:Objective To solve the shortcomings of complicated wiring, accumulated time error, and inconvenient fault checking of wired
bed call system, a wireless bed call system based on Raspberry Pi (RPi) and ZigBee ad hoc network was proposed. Methods The open
source hardware RPi was used as the host of the calling system. In order to achieve dynamic arrangement of beds and consistent time,
an intelligent addressing-addressing algorithm and time synchronization algorithm were designed by the system. Moreover, a signal
collision retransmission mechanism was designed to ensure stable and reliable transmission. Results Within 150 m, the wireless bed
calling system could work stably and reliably. The time synchronization function ensured that the time of each module was accurate
and consistent. Conclusion The wireless system has the advantages of low cost, good reliability, high stability, convenient wiring
and easy maintenance. It can effectively replace the existing wired call system, ensure medical safety, and improve medical work
efficiency and service quality.
