Abstract:This paper aimed to analyze the operation mode of hospital medical consumables under SPD mode and evaluate its
implementation effect. It took Dezhou People’s Hospital in Shandong Province as an example to analyze the case. First of all, interviews
were performed on two nursing supervisor, two equipment division employees and three SPD operations center employees by applying
the method of expert interview. Then, relevant experts and scholars were consulted and the related literatures at home and abroad
were retrieved. Finally, the management mode of purchase and supply of medical consumables, inventory management, secondary
warehouse management of distribution department, consumption settlement and reconciliation in the SPD mode of Dezhou people’s
hospital were introduced in detail. According to relevant domestic and foreign studies, SPD model was conducive to strengthening the
supervision of consumables to ensure the quality and safety of consumables, liberating clinical nurses to improve the quality of clinical
service, reducing the operating cost of hospitals and improving the competitiveness of hospitals, but it still needs to be optimized.
