Scheme Design and Verification of Auxiliary Centering System for Intraoperative Radiotherapy

Abstract:This paper proposes an auxiliary centering system design scheme for intraoperative radiotherapy and verifies its feasibility
by model simulation. The auxiliary centering system consisted of a measurement chain and a digital display unit. The measuring
chain adopted a multi-joint linkage structure for establishing the spatial positional relationship between the treatment cone and
intraoperative radiotherapy machine. The digital display unit employed the single-chip microcomputer to collect the value of the
angle sensor at each joint of the measurement chain, and provided the machine head movement parameters required to achieve
the centering operation for the operators through calculations. The model simulation indicated that the measurement chain could
realize the flexible follow-up of the treatment cone, and the design scheme of the multi-joint linkage structure could be used for
the development of the mechanical body of the prototype. Using the head motion parameter solving equation based on DenavitHartenberg method, the head motion parameters required for the centering operation can be accurately calculated. This equation can
be used for the software design of the experimental prototype.
