Abstract:Objective To explore the reasonable stock base and improve the clinical sa tisfaction about surgical instruments
with quantitative analysis model. Methods The surgical instruments outbound data from June 2016 to May 2018 in a
comprehensive first-class hospital were analyzed, and surgical instruments were classified into A-B-C according to their characteristics.
A quantitative analysis model was used to analyze the monthly inventory level of various surgical instruments at the required clinical
satisfaction rate. Results The surgical instruments were classified as category A, B and C. For category B, the present monthly stock
base was in a lower state, which resulted in the insufficient supply; for category A and C, the present bases were in a higher
state, which caused the long-term storage and waste. By the use of quantitative analysis model, the total service level of surgical
equipment in this hospital was increased by 3.08%, while the cost was reduced by 4.8%, the monthly storage cost was saved
by about 204,700 yuan, and the monthly storage volume was reduced by 15.07%. Conclusion In this hospital, the monthly stock
base of surgical instruments was unreasonable. The quantitative analysis model is an effective method to improve the clinical satisfaction
and reduce the storage cost.
