Abstract:Big data has become a hot research topic in various fields, and it is widely used in medical treatment. Medical big
data can be divided into clinical, health, biological and operational big data, related to human health in all areas. The issue of
privacy protection has become increasingly prominent. The concepts and characteristics of big data and medical big data were
briefly described in this paper. Meanwhile, in view of the privacy protection problem, we focused on discussing the common
privacy protection methods in the medical field at present, mainly including the hierarchical protection of medical data, access
control, data encryption and data anonymization. Then two algorithms of data encryption, DES and RSA, and data anonymization
were introduced. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of these methods were compared in order to find a feasible
method for medical big data privacy protection.
