Abstract:Through the collection and analysis of patent data in the medical device field, the technical development in China was
evaluated from the perspectives of technology scale and layout, technical competitiveness and technological development. There
were 1912979 patent applications in the global medical device field, with 838250 ones left after the merger of the family patent. Patent
applications in China were 403520, with 350955 family patents. The technology scale in China accounted for more than one-fifth of
the global total, but there were fewer global layouts and the technical competitiveness needed to be improved. The growth rate of
patent applications in China in the past 10 years was much higher than the global average, with technology development prospects.
Through the patent analysis and international comparison in the medical device field, it was expected to provide data and information
support for scientific decision-making, corporate investment, and think tank research in China.
