Objective This project is to make evaluation of the methods for measurement of primary tip vibration excursion for
ultrasonics-surgical systems. Methods According to the requirements and test methods from related standards, physical and acoustic
characteristics of tip for the ultrasonics-surgical system, we took two kinds of methods of measuring for instance, optical microscopy
and laser measurement method, and made measurement separately. Results The applicability of the two methods was evaluated
via the comparison from the measurement principle, measurement device layout, measurement device advantage, according to the
differential results obtained by means of two measurement methods. Conclusion Some guidance suggestions for appropriate test
method choice are given for the measuring of ultrasonics-surgical system primary tip vibration excursion.
