Research and Realization of Detecting Blood Pressure by Pulse Wave Transit Time Method

Abstract:Objective To study and realize the method to detect the blood pressure by pulse wave transmission time (PWTT).
Methods The PWTT was calculated by using the orientation of the electrocardiogram R wave and pulse wave peak. Statistical
analysis was performed on the relationship between the PWTT and human body's blood pressure by using the detection method
combined with the monitor blood pressure collecting a large amount of data. Results The orientation of the electrocardiogram R
wave and pulse wave peak were realized, and the PWTT was calculated. Meanwhile, the blood pressure was estimated based on the
statistical results. The proportion of the error of the estimated value and the measured values in 5 mmHg accounted for 32.54% and
in 10 mmHg accounted for 59.92%. Conclusion The stability of the positioning method still needs to be improved. In addition, the
accuracy of the blood pressure estimation algorithm is not enough, and further studies will be conducted in the future.
