Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore effect of two different blood collection methods on clinical operating efficiency and failure rate of the GEM3000 blood gas analyzer. Methods Retrospective study was made on the 76865 tests that were examined with GEM3000 blood gas analyzer in department of respiratory and intensive care unit. Group A was operated by centralized blood collection and test from January 2009 to December 2013; Group B was operated by phased blood collection and test from January 2014 to December 2015. This two blood collection methods were compared to analyze their effect on the failure rate of GEM3000 blood gas analyzer.ResultsThere was statistical significance in difference of patient number of the two different blood collection methods in unit time (P<0.05). By comparison of two different methods, phased blood collection and test can reduce the failure rate of GEM3000 blood gas analyzer (P<0.001), which has statistical significance.ConclusionPhased blood collection and test can improve clinical working efficiency, reduce the failure rate of GEM3000 blood gas analyzer, thus is clinically significant.
