Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effect of application of different iodine concentration of contrast
mediums in coronary angiography with 64-slice spiral computed tomography and to discuss the
feasibility of decreasing the iodine concentration of contrast mediums. Methods Altogether 200 patients
were randomly divided into 2 groups with 100 patients in each group. Visipaque (320 mgI/mL) and
Ultravist (370 mgI/mL) were used in two groups respectively to perform coronary CTA (Computed
Tomography Angiography) with 64-slice spiral CT. Then, the image quality, CT value, noise value, SNR
(Signal-to-Noise Ratio) and CNR (Contrast-to-Noise Ratio) of each measurement site as well as the incidence
of the allergic reaction of the two groups were analyzed. Results There was no significant difference between
Visipaque Group and Ultravist Group in the image quality (P>0.05); there were no significant difference in
the CT value, SD value, CNR and SNR in the ascending aortic root, the left main stem and the right coronary
artery between Visipaque Group and Ultravist Group; the total allergic reaction rate of Visipaque Group
was lower than that of Ultravist Group, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion The
effect of Visipaque and Ultravist in coronary artery imaging was basically the same, however, Visipaque
was more suitable for patients for its reduction of the patient’s iodine intake and adverse reactions.
