Abstract:Objective To investigate CT features of pulmonary solitary thin-walled cavitary tuberculosis
in order to optimize its diagnosis accuracy. Methods CT images of 19 patients clinically-confirmed with
pulmonary solitary thin-walled cavitary tuberculosis were analyzed and summarized retrospectively.
Results More lesions were located at pulmonary tuberculosis common site (apicoposterior segment of
superior lobe/ posterior segment of lower lobe) and right lung; the lesions were more likely to be round/
oval, the inner wall of cavitary was smooth, there were speculation on the margin of the lesions, and
the pleura change and satellite lesion were shown on the adjacent area. Conclusion It supposed to be
pulmonary tuberculosis if the solitary thin-walled cavitary lesion located at the apicoposterior segment
of superior lobe/posterior segment of lower lobe, the shape of lesions was round/oval, the inner wall
of cavitary was smooth, there were speculation on the margin of the lesions, and the pleura change and
satellite lesions.
