Abstract:Objective To obtain information about the qualification rate by detecting the electrical safety
qualification of all defibrillator monitors in a 3A grade hospital in Hefei area. Methods According
to the International Standard IEC60601.1 and national standard GB 9706.1-2007 "Medical electrical
equipment", FLUKE electrical safety analyzer was adopted to detect the electrical safety qualification
of all defibrillator monitors. Results Thirteen out of the fifteen defibrillators were found out of the
standard range during electrical safety grounding impedance test. The reason was that the external shell
was oxidized and resulted in a higher value of ground resistance. After performing the treatment of antioxidation
on the external metal shell, the qualification rate was 66.67% in the repeated test, the passing
rate of other test items was 100%. Conclusion With the electrical safety testing and experimental data as
the foundation, corresponding maintenance methods and strategies were proposed to solve the problems
found in the testing so as to decrease potential electrical safety hazards and to improve electrical safety
approval rate.
