Abstract:Objective To investigate the application value of combination of multi-slice spiral CTA
(Computerized Tomography Angiography) and the three-dimensional reconstruction technique in the
diagnosis of dissecting aneurysm of aorta. Methods Altogether 44 patients with dissecting aneurysm of
aorta who had been treated in the hospital from June 2012 to January 2014 were involved as the research
subjects. All the patients underwent chest and abdominal multi-slice CT scan. Then multiple threedimensional
reconstruction techniques were applied to the images, including MIP (Maximum Intensity
Projection), MPR (Multiple Planar Reconstruction), CPR (Curve Planar Reconstruction), and VR (Volume
Rendering), based on which all the cases were diagnosed and compared with clinically-proven results.
Results Multi-slice spiral CT demonstrated high consistency with DSA (Digital Subtraction Angiography)
in the diagnosis of dissecting aneurysm of aorta without significant differences (P<0.05), which could be
used to reveal the involvement and scope of aortic dissection, intraluminal thrombus, wall calcification as
well as rupture in a comparatively higher diagnostic manner. Conclusion The application of combination of
three-dimensional reconstruction techniques and multi-slice CTA proved its effectiveness in the assessment
of the severity of the conditions for patients with dissecting aneurysm of aorta, as well as the identification
of the lesion location and involvement scope, which deserve general clinical application and popularization.
