Abstract:Objective To reduce the inconvenience in access to outpatient services and relieve the
inaccessibility to medical services. Methods Through connection of the HIS (Hospital Information
System) with the bank payment system and upgrading and reformation of the workstation for out-patient
doctors as well as the registration and other information system, a banking–medical service system was
constructed by using the self-service equipment, which was equipped with multi-functions, including the
real name self-registration, payment, query and printing. Results The system optimized the outpatient
medical treatment process, reduced the patient’s waiting time for outpatient services, and improved the
working efficiency and service quality. Conclusion With the application of the banking-medical service
system, the outpatient service process in the hospital was improved, which enabled fast, convenient and
smooth medical services.
