Abstract:Currently, CT (Computerized Tomography) has become a kind of important clinical diagnostic method. Compared with conventional CT technology, the CT energy spectrum can use its own single-energy images, base material images and energy spectrum curves for diagnosis and quantitative analysis of the disease, which can not only provide the human anatomical morphology map similarly to the conventional CT, but also realize the analysis and identification of the material composition so as to greatly improve the reliability of diagnosis. This paper mainly analyzed three major principles of CT energy spectrum, including the single-energy imaging, material separation and quantitative analysis, as well as the effective atomic number. By means of the principle and image analysis tools, the CT energy spectrum can be used for clinical diagnosis and screening. To further elaborate its differences from conventional CT, this paper also expounded the advantages of application of CT energy spectrum in imaging, substance separation, detection of minor lesions as well as differential diagnosis of malignant tumors in combination with its basic principles.
