Abstract:Objective To analyze and compare the diagnostic value of ultrasound elastography (UE) and ultrasound-guided fine needle
aspiration cytology (US-FNAC) in breast nodules, and to provide basis for the selection of diagnostic schemes for breast nodules.
Methods A total of 207 patients with breast nodules who were admitted to our hospital from February 2021 to January 2023 were
selected. Preoperative UE and US-FNAC were used to analyze the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of the two methods in the
diagnosis of breast nodules, and their clinical diagnostic values were compared. Results There were 207 breast nodules, including
113 benign nodules and 94 malignant nodules. UE diagnosed 94 benign nodules and 79 malignant nodules; US-FNAC diagnosed
107 benign nodules and 86 malignant nodules. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of UE were 84.04%, 83.19% and 83.57%,
respectively. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of US-FNAC were 91.49%, 94.69% and 93.24%, respectively. The sensitivity,
specificity and accuracy of US-FNAC were higher than those of UE (P<0.05). Conclusion US-FNAC is more efficient than UE in
the diagnosis of breast nodules, but both of them have their own shortcomings. In practical application, they should be combined to
develop their strengths and avoid their weaknesses, so as to improve the early diagnosis rate of breast nodules.
