Abstract:Caries is one of the most predominant oral diseases, having the characteristics of high incidence and wide coverage
which significantly affected the quality of daily life severely. The pathogenic factors of caries include bacteria, food, tooth and
saliva. Early diagnosis and primary prevention are critical for the treatment of caries. Traditional visual examinations, such as X-ray
examination and other treatments, are subjective and harmful to the teeth and even the body, and they have hardly been able to satisfy
the movement from destructive treatment to early prevention. Smart dental detector can filter out the excitation light by 405 nm
ultraviolet to stimulate auto-fluorescence of teeth. In addition, FH8610 wireless camera is employed for imaging, and the images are
transferred to mobile phone APP by Wi-Fi wireless transmission. According to those images, doctors can diagnose caries remotely
at the early stage of tooth demineralization. Consequently, smart dental detector is a nondestructive, visual, intelligent and portable
device.
