Abstract:Objective To establish an integrated management system for orthopedic medical consumables, to help public hospitals
better adapt to the implementation of China healthcare security-diagnosis related groups (CHS-DRG) policy. Methods The
management difficulties and risk points of orthopedic medical consumables were analyzed by system method and induction method,
and the refined management measures of orthopedic consumables were discussed. Through the strict admittance management,
establishment of orthopedic consumables information management system and orthopedic consumables secondary library, the
information interconnection of consumables was realized, and the integrated management of access, purchase, use and traceability
of high-value consumables was realized. Results After the application of the management system, the management efficiency and
effect of the hospital were improved, and the management level of orthopedic medical consumables in the hospital was improved as a
whole. The proportion of surplus cases of hospital orthopedics DRG increased gradually, from 88.94% to 91.00%, and the proportion
of loss amount decreased gradually from 10.02% to 6.70%. Most orthopedics departments realized surplus. Conclusion After the
implementation of CHS-DRG, it will have an important impact on the long-term operation and development of hospitals. This
study puts forward clear management ideas and scientific management methods for orthopedic medical consumables, which can be
properly promoted and help managers of large public hospitals make more scientific decisions. Especially in the initial stage of DRG
implementation, it can help hospitals reduce operating costs and losses.
