Abstract:Irreversible electroporation (IRE) is a phenomenon in which irreversible hydrophilic pores are generated in the lipid
bilayer of cell membrane or biological tissue under the action of pulsed electric field, and its biological effect is to cause cell
apoptosis or death. In 2021, the National Food and Drug Administration approved the marketing of two domestic IRE devices. So
far, this technology has been applied in many domestic hospitals for the clinical treatment of liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, prostate
cancer and so on, and achieved good therapeutic effect. This paper reviews the past and present of IRE at home and abroad, and looks
forward to the future development of this technique.
