Abstract:Accurate preoperative prediction of tumor regression grade (TRG) after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NCRT) in
patients with locally advanced rectal cancer before surgery can help to provide an individualized treatment plan for patients. Imaging
methods are the primary means of predicting TRG, but the predictive efficacy of traditional imaging methods is unsatisfactory. The
development of several new imaging techniques, including contrast enhanced and functional imaging, provides new means, radiomics
can provide more objective support for clinical concerns such as efficacy, prognosis, and treatment decisions by using computers to
identify deep-seated information in a large number of images. This paper aims to review a large number of applied studies on imaging
to predict TRG in rectal cancer after NCRT, to understand its latest progress.
