Abstract:Objective To analyze the test methods, influence factors and clinical significance of quality control parameters such as
system spatial resolution, system plane sensitivity and intrinsic maximum count rate by testing single-photon emission computed
tomography(SPECT) equipment under the existing conditions of Department of Nuclear Medicine. Methods The Discovery NM/
CT 670 Pro imaging system of GE company was used. According to the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA)
standard NU-1-2012 and the national health industry standard WS 523-2019, the maximum count rate was measured with the
radioactive 99mTc point source, and the changes of real-time counting rates with distance from probe to source were recorded and
curves were plotted. The radioactive 99mTc plane source was prepared to measure the plane sensitivity of the system according to the
measurement requirements. The system spatial resolution was measured under the standard parameters using the double-line source
made according to the standard. The acquisition conditions such as the distance between the line source and the probe, the acquisition
matrix, the activity and the count were changed respectively to further detect the system spatial resolution. Results The system
spatial resolution was 7.5 mm.The smaller the acquisition matrix, the larger the source distance, the lower the spatial resolution of
the system.Appropriately reducing the source activity or acquisition count had no obvious effect on the system spatial resolution. The
system plane sensitivity was 100.5 cps/MBq and the intrinsic maximum counting rates was 107.5 kcps. Conclusion The researchers
of Department of Nuclear Medicine can realize the autonomous detection of the system spatial resolution, system plane sensitivity
and intrinsic maximum count rate of SPECT system under the present conditions, which is of great significance to effectively
guarantee the quality of SPECT imaging and improve the clinical diagnosis accuracy.
