Abstract:3D printing technology is a rapidly developing technology as a revolutionary progress in the manufacturing industry, and
its application in the medical field has also achieved rapid development. The application of 3D printing technology in total knee
arthroplasty (TKA) is becoming more and more common. 3D printing technology has the advantages of shortening the operation
time, improving the precision of osteotomy, and making personalized prosthesis more anastomotic. This paper introduced the
definition, development process and operation process of 3D printing technology, expounded its application status in TKA, and
analyzed its advantages in TKA medical education and preoperative communication, preoperative planning of surgical operation,
design and application of osteotomy guide plate, printing of personalized implants and cartilage regeneration of knee joint, and the
hot spots of TKA and articular cartilage regeneration were prospected, which aimed to lay a theoretical foundation for 3D printing
technology widely used in TKA.
